Senderos de historia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Se sabe que El Ejido tiene al menos 5.000 a\u00f1os de historia. \u00cdberos, fenicios, p\u00fanicos, romanos habitaron nuestras tierras. El principal testimonio arqueol\u00f3gico de nuestro municipio es la Zona Arqueol\u00f3gica de Ciavieja, con una secuencia estratigr\u00e1fica ininterrumpida desde el a\u00f1o 3.000 a.C. hasta el siglo IV d.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Te invitamos a recorrer el Paraje y la Reserva Natural de Punta Entinas-Sabinar para conocer su historia de torres vig\u00edas contra piratas, faros que alumbran las noches guiando a los barcos, antiguos cuarteles destinados a luchar contra el contrabando y los \u00faltimos vestigios de una de las mayores industrias salineras de Espa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hasta el mism\u00edsimo Conan anduvo por aqu\u00ed, ya que Punta Entinas-Sabinar fue una de las localizaciones de la pel\u00edcula de Conan el B\u00e1rbaro<\/em> de 1982.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Murgi en Punta Entinas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Aunque no se han encontrado restos romanos importantes en Punta Entinas-Sabinar, podemos intuir que la ciudad de Murgi estuvo vinculada con la zona de litoral, por tener buenas aguas para fondear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Punta Entinas-Sabinar se encuentra situado entre dos puertos romanos, el de Guardias Viejas y el de Turaniana, en Roquetas de Mar. Se han hallado, al menos, dos grandes concheros que demuestran que en sus costas se obten\u00eda el color p\u00farpura tan apreciado en Roma. Este tinte se extra\u00eda de moluscos como la ca\u00f1ailla o b\u00fasano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los romanos extrajeron sal de Punta Entinas y de Guardias Viejas para producir salazones y la salsa garum<\/em>. Tambi\u00e9n se sabe que cazaban flamencos por su lengua, considerada como un manjar por ellos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vestigios de Sal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

La industria salinera, en el Campo de Dal\u00edas, ha jugado un papel crucial en la econom\u00eda local a lo largo de los a\u00f1os, aunque su mayor explotaci\u00f3n se centr\u00f3 en el siglo XX. De aquellos tiempos nos queda un patrimonio industrial, compuesto por las casetas del motor elevador, del cable estante, el canal de las almejas, un molino, las casas de los trabajadores y un almac\u00e9n de sal que podr\u00e1s conocer si recorres los cerca de 5 km del Sendero de las Salinas de Cerrillos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Las salinas se explotaron hasta 1989, fecha en la que se protegi\u00f3 el Paraje. Curiosamente, el fin de la industria salinera tuvo en un principio un efecto negativo, ya que se perdi\u00f3 una gran superficie de la l\u00e1mina de agua, y muchas especies av\u00edcolas dejaron de utilizar este lugar como zona de alimento. Sin embargo, el paso del tiempo y su situaci\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica, han convertido sus charcones en uno de los rincones con m\u00e1s biodiversidad de la provincia, por la gran cantidad de especies que aqu\u00ed descansan en sus largas rutas migratorias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los vigilantes mudos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

El mar trajo a los fenicios, cartagineses, romanos as\u00ed como el comercio, la cultura y el crecimiento. Pero tambi\u00e9n lleg\u00f3 el peligro, por lo que se tuvo que construir una l\u00ednea de defensa del litoral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es larga la lista de piratas y corsarios que atacaron nuestras costas para robar la sal y secuestrar vecinos para pedir su rescate. El m\u00e1s temido de todos fue Hayredd\u00edn Barbarroja<\/em>, con su hermano Oruch<\/em> y sus tenientes Dragut<\/em>, Sinan<\/em> y Drub el diablo.<\/em> En los tiempos en los que nuestras tierras pertenec\u00edan al Reino Nazar\u00ed, el sult\u00e1n Yusuf I<\/em> fortific\u00f3 el litoral con torres o atalayas. En 1575, Felipe II mand\u00f3 construir unas nuevas bater\u00edas de torres y fortificaciones y entre ellas se encontraba el Castillo de Guardias Viejas, la Torre de Balerma, la Torre de los Cerrillos y la ya desaparecida Torre de las Entinas, sumergida bajo las aguas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Un guardi\u00e1n en la noche<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A lo largo de la historia han sido numerosos los naufragios producidos en las costas de Punta Entinas-Sabinar, pero hasta 1863 no se construy\u00f3 el primer faro, que dej\u00f3 de funcionar en 1915 por quedar seriamente da\u00f1ado a causa de un fuerte temporal. Sus restos hoy descansan bajo las aguas del mar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El faro actual se construy\u00f3 en 1926 con los restos del primer faro, un poco m\u00e1s hacia el interior, para no volver a sufrir la furia del mar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si hay una familia vinculada al Faro del Sabinal, esa es la familia Gandolfo. Durante m\u00e1s de 81 a\u00f1os, alg\u00fan miembro de esta familia estuvo sirviendo en el faro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antonio, el primero de la saga familiar, entr\u00f3 en el Sabinal como farista en el a\u00f1o 1909. Le sucedieron sus hijos Eustaquio (en 1933), Antonio (en 1947) y Luis (en 1975), y su nieto Jos\u00e9 Luis, entre los a\u00f1os 1986 y 1990.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
